Airport Authority Hong Kong, in partnership with Business Environment Council, launched Phase 2 of the Hong Kong International Airport Carbon Capacity Building Programme (HKIA CCBP) on 20 January. First introduced in 2022, the programme aims to help the airport community develop the necessary skills and awareness to achieve decarbonisation goals through a series of capacity‑building activities. Building on the foundation of Phase 1, Phase 2 of HKIA CCBP will further examine the practical skills and knowledge required to translate decarbonisation principles into action. The programme will also introduce annual accredited training courses to strengthen the capabilities of business partners.

Participants were briefed on the HKIA 2050 Net Zero Carbon Pledge updates, gained insights from the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference, and took part in a sharing session focused on supply chain decarbonisation at the launch event. The event also featured an interactive training workshop on Scope 3 emissions management, tailored to the diverse operational contexts of airport business partners and providing practical guidance on managing value chain emissions.
