Carbon Emission Reduction Measures and Strategies
- Most of Tradeport’s carbon emissions are generated through electricity consumption, thus, it focuses on reducing electricity consumption. It has reduced electricity consumption by using new energy-efficient chillers and lights with higher energy efficiency.
- To offset the carbon emissions generated from essential electricity consumption, Tradeport installed solar panels to generate renewable energy.
- Tradeport encourages the use of electric vehicles to minimise carbon emissions from diesel consumption. It has also installed electric chargers.
- Tradeport calculates carbon emissions and verifies the data by using the certificate body’s carbon management platform for continuous improvement
Case Study: Enhancing Warehouse Efficiency with LED Lighting Upgrades
We approached a vendor to replace the LED tube inside our warehouse. We chose one section in our warehouse as a trial. This section installed 660 tubes, we reduced the number of tubes by half. Although the illumination level remains the same, the electricity consumption is reduced by more than 80%.
Because the LED tubes can reduce energy consumption effectively, we have replaced most of the T5 and T8 tubes with these new LED tubes in our warehouse in 2024.
